The Public Works department, which has been entrusted the responsibility of constructing an attic for the Bahubali Mahamastakabhisheka in Shravanabelagola, gave a demonstration at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, here on Tuesday.

The demo was held in the presence of DC Rohini Sindhuri, district in-charge secretary Naveen Raj Singh, Special Officer Varaprasad Reddy, and ZP CEO K M Janaki.

German technology with ring and lock method is being used at a cost of Rs 12 crore for the purpose. The attic will have a capacity to withstand 250 people on it. A viewers’ gallery with a seating capacity of 5,500 people is also being set up.

Special Officer Varaprasad Reddy said, the construction of the attic has been handed over to the PWD.

“Udupa Enterprises has given a demo. PWD Chief Engineer Srinivas and team will inspect the demo and give approval. The works are expected to be completed by November end,” he added.
