Kottur: A young man allegedly killed his mother, father and younger sister a few days ago in Kottur in Vijayanagara district.
However, police are yet to recover the bodies of the three victims of the crime. Meanwhile, the suspect – Akshay Kumar – was arrested in Bengaluru, and is being taken to Kottur.
Although Akshay has claimed that he dumped the bodies of his father Bheemraj (48), 44-year-old mother Jayamma, and sister Amrutha (18) in a lake in Sandur, Kottur police suspect that he may have buried their bodies at home.
“We have no clue as to where he has buried the bodies. We will be able to examine the bodies only once Akshay comes to Kottur, and takes us to the spot,” said a senior police officer who is part of the investigation.
A few days ago, Akshay filed a complaint at the Tilak Nagar police station in Bengaluru, claiming that his parents and sister had gone missing.
He informed the police that he had brought them to Bengaluru to have them examined at the Jayadeva Hospital in the city. However, when the local cops in Bengaluru inquired at the Jayadeva Hospital, they found that no patient bearing the names of Akshay’s parents and sister had been treated there.
Bengaluru police subsequently intimated the cops in Kottur.
Police in Kottur went to Akshay’s house in Lal Bahadur Shastri Road, and enquired his neighbours.
Sniffer dogs were brought to his house, and fingerprint experts pressed into service at the spot.
Meanwhile, Vijayanagara district Superintendent of Police S Jahnavi and Deputy SP Mallesh Doddamani are camping at Akshay’s house.
