Mangaluru: Moodbidri police have registered a case against Mahesh Vikram Hegde (45), for posting a provocative message on Facebook.

Commissioner of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy said on September 9, under the account name POSTCARD, he had posted: “Honourable Chief Minister, just once, dare to send a bulldozer into the mosque of those who pelted stones at the Ganapati procession, and such incidents will never recur anywhere in the state.”

Following a complaint, a case was registered at Moodbidri Police Station under Section 353(2) of the BNS. Police took up the investigation and apprehended him in Bengaluru. On Friday, he was produced before the CJ and JMFC Court, Moodbidri, which remanded him in judicial custody.
