A bike rider died on the spot after his bike was hit by another vehicle from rear end on the road between Bankapur and Savanur in Shiggaon taluk on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Virupakshagowda Siddangowda Doddagowdra (55) of Challal village in Savanur taluk.
His wife Shankramma, who was riding pillion, luckily escaped. The accident took place when they were returning to their village Challal from Baad after taking part in Sheege Hunnime celebration.
Bankapur police have registered a case.
