Mangaluru: The Moodbidri police arrested three persons on the charges of transporting three cattle illegally on Hosmaru-Nellikaru road.
Commissioner of police Sudheer Kumar Reddy C H said that the arrested are Mansur Adyapadi alias Mohammed Mansur, Mohammed Ashfaq and Abdul Mohammed Nisham. Moodbidri police have registered a case under section 111 of BNS, Section 11(1)(D) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, sections 4, 5, 7, 12 of the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act.
There are 30 cases registered against Mansur in various police stations. Mohammed Ashfaq has a case registered under various sections of Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act in Ullal. Mohammed Nisham did not have any criminal background and this is the first case registered against him.
The arrested were produced before the court, which in turn remanded them in judicial custody.
