Mangaluru, DHNS: The Mangaluru CCB police have arrested two youths who were selling narcotic substances like Hydro Weed Ganja, Charas, and ganja to the public and students in Mangaluru City. The police have seized Hydro Weed Ganja, Charas, and other valuables worth Rs nine lakh from their possession.
Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal said acting on a tip-off that narcotic substances were being procured from Bengaluru and sold to the public and students in Mangaluru City, the Mangaluru CCB conducted an operation in Shivabagh 5th Cross Road, where the accused were found in possession of narcotic substances while attempting to sell it.
The arrested are Taizeer Ismail Hussain (23), Resident of 2nd Cross Road, Subhash Nagar, Pandeshwar, and Royston Xavier Lobo (22), native of Bolangadi House, Bantwal, Panemangalore and currently residing at Shivabagh, Mangaluru.
The police seized Rs 8,00,000 worth of narcotic substances, including Hydro Weed, Ganja, Charas, and two mobile phones from their possession. A case has been registered at Mangaluru East Police Station.
The accused were engaged in drug smuggling with the intention of leading a luxurious lifestyle. The successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal and the direction of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Siddharth Goyal and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime & Traffic) K Ravishankar.
The operation was led by CCB ACP Manoj Kumar Naik, with Police Inspectors Rafiq KM, PSI Narendra, ASIs Ram Poojary, Sheenappa, Sujan Shetty, and other personnel from the CCB unit.
