To provide first-aid to a large number of people free of cost, Transport Minister R Ramalinga Reddy on Monday launched a Mass Casualty Rescue Wagon, which has been developed by Golden Hour Association in association with Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).

The wagon will rush to the accident spot within an hour and give first aid to the injured. This vehicle can transport around 10 severely injured people and 10 slightly injured people. The wagon will also have around eight stretchers, and oxygen filling equipment.

The van will have first-aid kits, medicine and doctors. The vehicle will work round the clock. “By 2050, WHO has sought reduction of the number of accidents by 50%. More such vehicles will be added depending on the requirement,” said Reddy.
