In a swift response to the reports published in Deccan Herald on July 24 issue, the TMC began the work for which the contracts had been awarded four months ago.
The tenders had been called by the TMC for the development of various roads in the taluk in the month of March.
Under the first phase Rs 19 lakh package was approved for development of road in ward no 2 including road behind Valmiki temple and CC road.
However the contractors who had won the projects had not begun the work even after four months and even TMC had turned a nelson’s eye towards the issue. Travelling on the road was a daily ordeal for the residents of the ward due its poor condition.
However, the construction works have brought relief to them. The works on the CC road will be completed in two days said TMC Engineer Chandrashekar
