A #MeToo Facebook post by a city-based woman, claiming sexual harassment by two senior BJP leaders, created panic in the saffron party on Friday.

Madhuri Mudhol, a businesswoman who was associated with the BJP in the past, did not name anyone in her post. However, she narrated instances of ‘objectionable’ behaviour by the BJP leaders, one of them a minister at the time of the incident.

She recalled how the then minister invited her for coffee at a luxury hotel, where she alleged that he insisted on booking a room for her, asking her if she preferred a room with a bathtub. Angered, she got up to leave when she claimed the minister held on to her bag and dropped a bundle of Rs 500 notes.

Later in the day, Mudhol’s post was picked up by news channels. “Due to the harassment by the media I have deleted my post. They are telling way beyond what I wanted to share. They are bringing names which I haven’t mentioned. This is hurting me more,” she wrote.
