Water Resources Minister M B Patil sustained minor injuries after the car
he was travelling toppled on National Highway-218 near Halageri in Badami taluk on Friday.
The accident occurred when the minister was travelling from Vijayapura to Ulavi in Uttara Kannada district to take part in Siddarameshwara Jayanti programme. The car skidded off the road after the driver lost control over the vehicle while it was moving on a narrow stretch of road, and later toppled. The work on widening of NH-218 is in progress.
The minister sustained minor injuries and after first aid, he travelled back to Vijayapura in a private car.
His gunman Vijay Mahantesh, photographer Prasanna G Patil, personal secretaries Mahantesh Biradar and Siddanna Sakri were travelling with him.
Kerur police have registered a case.
