Energy Minister D K Shivakumar stopped midway, a dance drama which highlighted the death of IAS officer D K Ravi, police officers Kallappa Handibag and M K Ganapathi, during the Independence Day parade here on Monday.
The students were dancing to a song from “Shanthi Kranthi” movie, during the cultural programmes at the Independence Day parade.
As soon as children brought photographs of the three officers in the middle of the dance, an irked Shivakumar asked the organisers to stop the event immediately.
He took the Deputy Director of Public Instruction Shivamadappa to task for allowing students to perform the dance with the photographs. The minister asked the DDPI whether persons who commit suicide are a role model for the society.
