Speaking at an iftar party organised by the BJP minority wing, Yeddyurappa said his government would render all possible help to further the education of children belonging to the minority.

Yeddyurappa ruled out discrimination of communities on the basis of religion. “Overall development of the state is possible only if all communities are considered equal”, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Nandidurga road Jumma Masjid president Anwar Sharief sought assistance from the government for setting up “Karnataka Heritage and Development Centre for Muslim” at the premises.
