Woman ends life
Disgusted with the alcoholic husband, a woman committed suicide by setting ablaze at Kelarkala Bettu in Udupi on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Rathna Naik. Rathna, a native of Karimane in Shimoga married Prabhakar Naik 16 years ago. However, Naik was said to be not taking care of the house and allegedly spending all the earnings for drinking. A case has been registered.
Fire mishap
An accindetal fire which broke out in a house damaged property worth Rs 25,000 at Ullal Bandikotya. The house belongs to Canute Tellis. A case has been registered. Fire service personnel and locals doused the fire.
