He visited Aikola Muslim colony in a traditional boat (Theppa) and inspected the 13 houses which were affected due to the floods. Addressing the reporters later, he said that the victims will be rehabilitated under ‘Navagrama’ programme,’ with co-operation from the public.

He said that the beneficiaries of Navagrama programme will be given free sites by the government along with a subsidy of Rs 40,000 for construction of houses. 

In case the locals agree for the shifting, then Navagrama programme will surely provide permanent solution for this problem, he added.

He later visited Kanwabalamuri village and interacted with the victims rehabilitated at the gruel centre. He inspected the house of Raja Belliyappa and Monappa, which were damaged due to heavy rains in Murnadu.
