One can sip ‘Modi Tea’ in parts of the State including in Bangalore from Saturday. The stalls are not just going to offer a hot cup of ‘chai’ for free to passersby, but also serve as campaign centres for the party candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.

On Saturday, Bangalore South candidate and MP H N Ananth Kumar will begin his door-to-door visit as part of the ‘Mane Manege BJP’ (BJP - house to house), in Bapujinagar and surrounding areas. He is also going to inaugurate a couple of tea stalls, put up by the party Yuva Morcha and NaMo Brigade.

“We are driving home a point that the Congress can’t humiliate Modi because he used to sell tea. We will show that no vocation is inferior,” said Ashwathnarayan, BJP MLC.

He said on Saturday, the stalls will be operational at KHB Colony, Magadi Road bus stand and Chandra Layout. On every Sunday from February 2, a tea stall will be opened near Lal Bagh West Gate, till the elections are over. On February 8, the party will hold a ‘Chai par churcha’ (discussion over tea) to interact with the public, Ashwathnarayan said.

Manifesto

Mahila Morcha of the State BJP on Friday launched “Your Voice Our Manifesto” at the Malleswaram side entrance of Sankey tank. Office-bearers and members of the morcha distributed pamphlets in both Kannada and English to the public to give their views on what they considered major issues.

They were asked to make suggestions for a “better India” and what can be done for the “betterment of their constituency”. The inputs will be compiled to come out with constituency specific manifestoes for all the 28 Lok Sabha segments in the State.
