Suffering from acute purging and nausea, the monkey surprised the staff of the vet hospital on Wednesday, by entering the premises and lying down on the examination table.
Hospital staff V Ranganathappa recalled that the monkey had been to the hospital a fortnight ago with similar symptoms and had been treated for acute dehydration caused by excessive purging.
After it got better due to the treatment, the monkey had returned to a tree that is its abode. Apparently, the illness relapsed, and the monkey was back in the hospital, much like humans., says Dr G M Nagaraj.
The doctor says the monkey is extremely listless and is consuming only juices.
“We are administering glucose and medication, and will provide it with all medical care,” says the doctor.
