Monsoon gained momentum after a brief lull in various parts of the State on Thursday. Bhatkal, Honnavar, Kumta, Ankola and Karwar in Uttara Kannada district received incessant rainfall throughout the day, while, Siddapur, Haliyal, Dandeli and Mundagod  received light rainfall.

Incessant rainfall lashed several parts of Shivamogga district on Thursday. Hosanagar, Thirthahalli, Sagar, parts of Shikaripur, Sorab, Shivamogga and Bhadravathi received rain. Water level in Mani dam rose to 579.50 metre against the maximum level of 594.36 metre as catchment area of the dam received rainfall of  225 mm. The inflow was 6,175 cusecs of water. 

11,000 cusecs of water was released from the five crest gates of Tunga dam. The inflow in Bhadra dam was 3,044 cusecs of water and the water level rose to 153.10 feet. Water level in Linganamakki dam rose to 1, 769.75 feet against the maximum level of 1,819 feet. The inflow of water was 4,467 cusecs of water. 

Dakshina Kannada district received rains throughout the day. Udupi district too received good rainfall on Thursday while Kodagu as well as Chikkamagaluru received intermittent rainfall.
