Residents living around Chamarajpet had protested against opening of a MSIL liquor unit at the locality. They claimed that the locality is a residential area and having a liquor outlet does not augur well. But their plea was not heard.

MSIL district in-charge officer Srinivas Reddy said the department plans to open 14 of such outlets. Chintamani, Peresandra and Chelur already have these units, he added. He further said that after obtaining permit from Deputy Commissioner N Manjula they set up the unit.
