Much-awaited Mumbai flight service begins

For the first time, the North Karnataka region got the air service by a bigger aircraft (A319), that too on the much-awaited Hubballi-Mumbai route, when the Air India's Bengaluru-Hubballi-Mumbai flight service began from the officially inaugurated upgraded Hubballi Airport on Tuesday.

In its inaugural journey connecting 'Chota Mumbai' with Mumbai, the 124-seater had 34 passengers from Hubballi. In the return direction, 37 passengers traveled from Hubballi to Bengaluru on this flight, the officials said. For the inaugural journey of this flight, passengers were welcomed with flower bouquets at the new terminal on Tuesday afternoon.

This tri-weekly service is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. As per the schedule, the flight will depart Bengaluru at 12:00 noon, land in Hubballi at 12:50 pm, depart at 1:25 pm and reach Mumbai at 2:30 pm. In the return direction, it will leave Mumbai at 3:25 pm, land in Hubballi at 4:35 pm, depart at 6:10 pm, and reach Bengaluru at 7:00 pm.

So far, only 72-seater flights operated from Hubballi, and a similar flight is already operating between Bengaluru and Hubballi.
