The fugitive, Fayum, had allegedly opened fire on Abdul Nayeem and Zakir Hussain, the two cops who were on duty on April 30.
Nayeem succumbed to injuries on May 12.
The police had arrested Fayum in Hyderabad on Monday night and were escorting him to Bidar. He gave the slip near Waldoddi cross.
Police that said two teams of police officials attached to Market Police station and New Town Police station visited Hyderabad where Fayum, a habitual offender, lived in a rented house.
