Calling upon the youth not to celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 14, Srirama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik said on Wednesday that the day should be celebrated as ‘Mata-Pita Pooja’ to show love towards one’s parents.

“We will not force the couples found on Valentine’s Day to get married. But, we will arrange the wedding of those facing opposition from parents. Three couples have approached us. We are trying to convince the parents and arrange the wedding on February 14,” Muthalik said.

He told reporters that the Sene was not against pure love, but that celebrating Valentine’s Day was a threat to Indian culture and it is a marketing day for drug mafia, sex mafia and MNCs.
