The live streaming of various events, organised as part of Nada Habba Mysuru Dasara - right from the inauguration atop the Chamundi Hill to the cultural programmes in front of Mysuru Palace, and Yuva Dasara at Uttanahalli - received an overwhelming response with 1.33 crore views across all platforms this year.
The objective of live streaming is to extend the reach of Mysuru Dasara, making the traditional and cultural spectacle accessible to a vast digital audience and to reinforce it as a major cultural event of India.
While thousands attend the annual events physically to soak in the Dasara spirit, others, in the country and abroad, choose to watch the events virtually, live-streamed on various tele-media channels and social media platforms.
There is a steady increase in the numbers over the years for the live streaming of the events. Last year, 97 lakh people watched it. The authorities had set a target of 1.5 crore viewership for Dasara 2025.
All arrangements were made to reach more than one crore views for the live relay of the Dasara programmes this year.
The events were telecast live on YouTube, Facebook and via https://www.mysoredasara.gov.in/ - the Dasara’s official website.
As per the details available, the official website of Dasara, launched by the district administration, received 35.5 lakh direct views from September 5 to October 2, and 36 lakh cumulative for live streaming.
The average viewing on the website was between 80,000 and 1.2 lakh views per day. Most of the people visited the website to view ticket sales announcements, peak event dates, live events and the schedule of the live streaming.
The peak event clusters from September 22 to October 2 received a good response through the Mysuru Dasara website, CESC and related social media handles.
Each Instagram post received 2 lakh to 4 lakh views, which shows the strong participation of netizens. In all, it has contributed more than 90 lakh views.
The inauguration and cultural programmes from September 22 to 29 received 15 lakh (1.5 million) views, with a daily average of 90,000 to 1,60,000 views per event.
