The villagers of Agasanahundi breathed a sigh of relief after a tiger was trapped in a cage on Monday.

The tiger had created panic among the villagers and killed cattle in the village, falling under Nagarahole National Park.

The forest department had placed the cage following complaints from the villagers.

The villagers staged a protest demanding the Forest officials to compensate their loss before shifting the trapped animal.

Forest department veterinarian Dr Mijeeb and RFO Sharan Basappa visited the spot.
