He was speaking after distributing prizes to the winners of the drawing competition, organised at the Boys’ Government Pre-University College and High School in Tiptur on Thursday.

The competition was organised by the Eco-club of the college to create awareness among the students about the importance of conserving environment.
He stressed the importance of preserving flora and fauna, water, air.

Environmentalist Shadaksari Devaru was the chief guest of the function.
 He opined that it was impossible for the human life to exist without the help of nature. Water, trees, air were all a part of life, required for the survival of human existence he said.
Vice-principal R Renuka Prasad presided over the prize distribution function.
 He said that Tsunami, flood, drought and other natural calamities that the world has faced in past few years are the out come of nature destruction.

Eco-club organiser M Gururaj, Eashwar and many others were present on the occasion.
