The High Court on Tuesday said it would not entertain any petition filed by students challenging the re-evaluation of answer scripts pertaining to various examinations such as SSLC, PUC, diploma, degree and other courses.
Hearing a petition filed by Poornima Siddarameshwar of Bangalore, challenging the re-evaluation of her diploma examination paper, Justice Ram Mohan Reddy passed the order and asked students not to approach courts challenging re-evaluation pleas.
The judge dismissed the petition and said, “If the court interferes in re-evaluation cases, there would be thousands of petitions pertaining to various courses and the court cannot go through every answer script of every paper.”
The court also heard another petition seeking re-evaluation by a student who wrote the examination for a secretarial diploma course and got 35 marks, 10 below the pass score.
When he applied for re-evaluation, he secured zero marks. The student approached the court and the judge himself reviewed his answer script. As he struggled to understand what the student had written, the judge, on a lighter note, described the paper as “wonder of wonders”.
“I think what you have got in the re-evaluation is the appropriate marks,” he said, and dismissed the petition.
