As many as 111 census volunteers including forest officials started the search for signs of existence of Tiger in 37 line transacts in the forest limits from 6.30 am onwards.
The volunteers toiled to collect data on 14 distinct signs, which establish existence of tiger in the area. “On the first day of the census, we did not spot any Tiger but footprints of two Tigers have been found in Muthodi Range,” informed Deputy Conservator of Forest Vijay Mohan Raj.
Census volunteers have spotted Antelope, deer, sheep and elephants on Friday on the line transact. Footprints of Leopard and porcupine have been documented.
