Records of land acquired for government projects or lands that have been converted, as also court judgments will be scanned and uploaded to the government website, by the Revenue department.
Higher Education Minister V S Acharya said the exercise would be initiated in 29 centres across the State, including Bangalore, in the first phase.
The government also approved the implementation of ‘digital drafting mechanism’, which involves digitisation of all government orders, circulars and notifications, a task which has been entrusted to the e-governance department.
According to officials, henceforth, any government order that has been issued will be immediately scanned and digitally signed by the concerned department officials through a mechanism called digital signature certificate. ‘E-tokens’, costing Rs 495, which are in the form of pen drives will be distributed to all 32 departments in the State secretariat. The e-tokens are being procured from the National Informatics Centre.

After digitally signing the order/notification/circular, the officials are expected to upload the document to the website, making it available to all at the click of a button.
Presently, gazette notifications are being uploaded to the government website. Officials said all orders, from as long ago as 10 years, will also be digitised. The documents will be procured from the guard file or circular file from each of the departments, scanned and digitised in a phased manner.
Salary hike
Salaries of employees of KPTCL and all five Escoms have been hiked by 25 per cent (on basic). However, the Dearness Allowance has not been revised. Acharya said this would not be a burden on the State government, as the companies themselves would bear the burden of the revised salaries.
BIAL equity
The Cabinet deferred a decision on the permission sought by Siemens Company to sell its equity in the Bangalore International Airport Ltd, which is presently valued at Rs 4,378 crore (40 per cent share in the consortium).
The Cabinet approved the sub-committee’s recommendation to sanction permission for 11 new nursing colleges and 19 paramedical colleges across the State.
All are private colleges. Approval was also given to extend the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital, Raichur, and Apollo Hospitals till May 31, 2012. The MoU had expired on July 1, this year. Other approvals
- Sanction of Rs 8 crore for setting up five botanical gardens – near Lalbagh in Bangalore, near Koratagere in Tumkur, Chikkaballapur, Sirsi and Mysore
- Sanction of Rs 80 crore for land acquisition for the construction of 25.15-km stretch on NH 132; the project has been transferred from KSHIP to KRDCL
- Budget for the total construction cost of Suvarna Soudha in Belagum has been fixed at Rs 391 crore
- Sanction of Rs 10 crore for setting up Viability Gap Fund for effective and speedy
implementation of development projects
- Sanction of Rs 6.6 crore for construction of parking lot in the City Civil Court premises in Bangalore. The budget has overshot by Rs 82.69 lakh
