Mangaluru: Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dinesh Gundu Rao said that it is not Congress leaders, but the BJP that is criticising the Indian Army.

“Just look at the BJP Minister’s remark on Colonel Sofiya Qureshi. The High Court said it doesn't believe the government is filing a case. There is now a situation where an FIR has to come from the court,” he told mediapersons in Mangaluru.

"But for BJP workers, the only goal is to communalise the matter. BJP workers even harshly criticised our Foreign Secretary’s daughter. They should have trolled the Prime Minister who announced the ceasefire. Such a decision is not possible without the PM’s consent. The issue should be addressed clearly, without politicising it."

"Pakistan has claimed that they shot down five of our jets. Modi is not ready to respond to it either. After the killing in Pahalgam, the government said the perpetrators would be hunted down and finished. We all stood with the Prime Minister then."

"Trump comes out 20 times in front of the media and answers journalists' questions. But no one can question our Prime Minister. He does not care about journalists. Modi has no regard for the 'godi media. Let him call an all-party meeting and answer all the questions. Should we believe everything Modi says as sacred truth? Our leaders have demanded a special parliamentary session,” he said.

On Karnataka Congress MLA Kothur Manjunath raising doubts over the military action, Rao said that the whole country is questioning, and people of the country want a clear answer.

“It was Trump who made the statement on ceasefire, which was later acknowledged by Pakistan and our country. Our country should have stated it earlier. Modi is afraid to even mention the name ‘Trump’. He boldly criticises Turkey with his 56-inch chest, but when China’s weapons are used by Pakistan, he remains silent on China."

When asked on US President Donald Trump asking tech giant Apple to stop moving iPhone production to India, Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said “I have faith in PM Modi as Trump is his friend. I hope that Modi will be able to handle the situation and rectify the situation. Trump’s decision is detrimental to India’s interest. Hope India does not lose out.”
