Deputy Chairman of Legislative Council Marithibbegowda has urged the state government to approach the Union government to reconsider New Pension Scheme (NPS) to protect the welfare of employees.

Addressing a gathering during a symposium on NPS, organised by Mysuru Division State Government NPS Employees Association at Kalamandir here on Sunday, Marithibbegowda alleged that both Union as well state government are blaming each other if employees demand revision of the scheme. "We had met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asking him to take measures to revise the scheme. But, he denied to approach the Centre," he alleged.

MLCKTSrikantegowada said that by implementing NPS, the government is indirectly making officials corrupt. The NPSis the worst scheme. As per the scheme, 10% of the total salary will be deducted under the pension scheme. The new scheme should be withdrawn immediately, he said.
