The Karnataka High Court on Monday came down heavily on government officials for not following its orders.

A division bench comprising Justices H G Ramesh and John Michael D’ Cunha asked the government counsel if the IAS officers knew English and if they were able to follow court orders. The bench orally expressed displeasure at the way officers have been dodging their responsibilities despite a division bench issuing directions to the government to follow them.

Justice Ramesh said due to irresponsibility of these officers, the petitioners have to make several rounds of the courts for justice. The bench was hearing a petition challenging the nomination of syndicate members to Bangalore University. The next hearing has been adjourned to Wednesday.
