A person was killed on the spot while five others sustained injuries in an accident involving a car and two lorries on NH 48 near here on Friday.
The deceased is Shivakumar (42) and the injured are Hemanth, Manjunath, Santosh, Krishna and Chandru. According to police, all are residents of Devanahalli in Bengaluru and were returning home after touring Dakshina Kannada and neighbouring districts.
When the vehicle reached Srikantaiah Circle in the town, a lorry coming from behind hit the car which in turn rammed into another lorry, which was parked by the roadside.
While Shivakumar was killed on the spot, the condition of two injured is said to be critical. After first aid in Hirisave, they were shifted to a private hospital in Bengaluru.Hirisave Police have registered a case.
