Onlooker gored to death during bull race

 A 25-year-old onlooker was gored to death by a bull during a bull race organised as part of Deepavali festival at Haramaghatta in Shimoga taluk on Sunday.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as Ganesh Naik, resident of Hale Joga, Honnali taluk in Davangere district. It is said that he had come to watch the bull race. 

The incident occurred when the bull came rushing towards the crowd while a villager tried to tame it during the race. Ganesh sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.

Three injured

Three other spectators, Rudra Naik, Nagendra and Parashuram, all from Shimoga taluk, sustained injuries in the incident and they are being treated at McGann Hospital in Shimoga. Shimoga rural police have registered a case.
