In a novel move, a Bengaluru based lady, with several other NGOs is providing equipments worth Rs 28 L for endosulfan victims in Uppinangadi.

Social worker Nelly Prechard from Bengaluru chalked out a programme for the endosulfan victims of Puttur, Alankar, Koila, Kokkada and Shiradi. By gathering the information on them, she has been providing the required assistance for them, with the guidance of experts.

The team recently visited Uppinangadi Community Health Centre and gathered required information such as measurements for preparing artificial limbs and other devices on the spot. The team will work towards the cause for three days. 

Nelly Prechard said that arrangements have been made to provide equipment to 350 children who are endosulfan victims. 150 children will be provided wheelchairs, others will be provided artificial limbs and so on. Equipment worth Rs 28 lakh will be distributed. She further said that she came to know about endosulfan victims through TV and newspapers. Thinking that she must do something for the affected. Assistance has been provided by Jayakarnataka, Boeing and LDS organisations, she said.

The association of people with disability, led by Nelly Prechard has been providing the equipment to the needy. The specialty of the organisation is that 10 physiotherapy and orthopedic specialists in the organisation are physically challenged.
