'Parents allowed us to pursue subject of choice'

Deepashri K R of Adichunchanagiri Institute of Technology in Chikmagalur, who secured 11 gold medals in Civil Engineering branch, attributed her success to better understanding of subjects and participation in co-curricular activities.


Hailing from Shimoga, Deepashri said she would prefer working in the State even if she got an opportunity to study  further overseas. She owed her success to her parents, Ratnakar Bhat, a banker.

Gargy Ganguly of Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, Bangalore bagged seven gold medals. Ganguly from Bengal said hard work yielded her desired results. “My parents did not force me to choose the course and I pursued my favourite subjects Electronics and Electrical Engineering and succeeded. I would pursue research,” she said.

Megha B R of BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore, winner of four gold medals, said she could succeed because her parents allowed her to choose Computer Science and Engineering.

Pragati Kulkarni of CMR Institute of Technology, Bangalore, has won four gold medals in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
