PGCET exam: Cong leader alleges irregularities

Addressing a press conference in Bangalore on Friday,  KPCC spokesperson  L Hanumanthaiah alleged that a big racket was thriving in getting seats for students and helping them get through examinations by illegal means.

Hanumanthaiah demanded that the government cancel the PGCET held in January and order a re-examination immediately.

He charged that about 100 questions of the PGCET had been sold (revealed) before the examinations in Bellary. “After the Lokayukta indicted eight students, their admissions have been cancelled, but there are many more people behind this. The Medical Education Minister is shielding them,” he alleged.

He said that despite the Bellary SP submitting a report a week ago, no action has been taken so far.

“He has made a statement recently stating that he will write to Chief Minister regarding this. Does he need a month’s time to react to this ? This is a great injustice by the Government to meritorious students,” he said.
