At least six contractors' pockets were picked at the state-level contractors' meet in the city recently.
Police said miscreants cut pockets of six contractors during commotion that resulted when Chief Minister Siddaramaiah arrived for the function. The contractors lost around Rs 2.88 lakh.
The police said contractor C P Uttappa lost Rs 35,000, Prakash Gowda Rs 3,000, Venkatesh Rs 5,500, Shayam Sundar Bhat Rs 1.1 lakh, Sathish Kumar B S Rs 85,000 and Veeresh Rs 50,000.
The High Grounds police have registered a case and are on the lookout for notorious pickpockets.
