Joy Philip was flying a Cessna 180 when the aircraft crashed on April 17, 2004 near Jakkur airfield. Besides the pilot, Soundarya, her brother Amarnath and state Hindu Jagran Vedike's Ramesh Kadam were also killed.
Ooman Joy told Deccan Herald that he had raised loans to make his son a pilot.
"I had approached lawyers when I learnt that the company was not ready to give me the compensation. Unfortunately, the case has not been filed yet," he added.
Referring to the contention Agni Aero Sports and Adventure Academy Pvt Ltd that Joy Philip was not on their rolls, Ooman joy asked how could they allow a man, who is not an employee, to fly a chartered flight.
Case filed
He filed a case at Workmen Compensation Court in Dharwad on January 22, 2008.
Soundarya's husband Raghu said, "I haven't received any response from the aviation company. So, I filed a case in 2006 to get compensation. The verdict of which is yet to come."
When contacted, aviation company CEO Arvind Sharma said: "Actually the matter is sub-judice. The aircraft was hired by Hyderabad-based Flight Tech Aviation Ltd. So it is not my responsibility to pay compensation," said Sharma.
