The Doddapet police filed an FIR against three persons, including K G Kumaraswamy - the sitting BJP MLA from Shimoga Rural constituency - on Friday, in connection with a cheating case filed at the second JMFC court.

D Dakshayanamma, a teacher and resident of 60 feet road in Vinoba Nagar, has filed a private complaint in the second JMFC court accusing Shashikanth, President of the Syndicate Bank Employees Housing Co-operative Society and MLA Kumaraswamy, who is also the Vice President of the Society and Secretary Ashok Kumar.

She has alleged that the trio had collected money from her, promising to allot a site. But they have failed to do so. After hearing the arguments of the complainant, the court directed the Doddapet police to investigate the case.
