Bengaluru: An activist has lodged a complaint with Raj Bhavan claiming that former MLC Ramesh Babu, who has been shortlisted for nomination to the Legislative Council for another term, faces allegations of land grabbing and fraud.
Activist Tejas Gowda said in his petition that Babu "committed serious acts of impersonation, cheating and fraudulent conduct against a fellow practising advocate". Gowda also claimed Babu is accused in an ongoing private criminal case pertaining to alleged land-grab. "It is unethical to approve nomination of a person who has serious pending criminal case," the plea said.
