The reason being, Dasara is a ‘Naada Habba’ and people’s participation should be given priority, meant Ajai Kumar Singh keeping aside plans to plan ‘Jamboo Savaari the last leg of Dasara on R-Day model, while speaking to media  in the city on Tuesday.

The DG and IG said that the cops are being trained to be tourist friendly to facilitate all to take part in the festival. However, owing to huge tourist inflow for the most famous event of the year, security arrangements will be made. He also promised that the verdict on Babri Masjid and Ram Janmabhoomi title suit will also not have any impact on Dasara and suitable measures have been taken in this regard.

In the year 2008, terrorists threat was looming large over the festival, while there was no such threat following year.

This year too, there is no such threat and central security forces will not be summoned, he clarified. But, additional 2,000 police personnel will be deployed from other districts. The first batch is expected to arrive on October 7 and second batch on October 10, he said.

Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal, DCPs (law and order) Basavaraj Malagathi, P Rajendra Prasad (Crime and traffic) and Prabhashankar (CAR) police force, Commandant, Mounted Police Force, S J Mariba Shetty and several others attended the meeting.
