Bengaluru: Girinagar police have issued a notice to the wife of Kannada actor Dhanush Raj in connection with an assault and harassment case registered on the actor’s earlier complaint.
A senior police officer said that Dhanush Raj had approached the Girinagar police on Sunday, alleging that his wife, Arshita, assaulted him, harassed him and issued threats to his life. Based on his complaint, the police registered an FIR and began an investigation.
In his complaint, the actor alleged that the dispute between the couple escalated after he travelled abroad without informing her. He also alleged that she threatened she would end her life and falsely implicate him in criminal cases.
Dhanush further alleged that on one occasion, Arshita deliberately injured herself by striking her hand against a glass panel in the bathroom and that he had been subjected to sustained harassment and intimidation
After a case was registered, police issued a notice to Arshita, summoning her for questioning as a part of the investigation.
Meanwhile, Arshita has filed a counter-complaint at the women police station, accusing Dhanush of dowry harassment and physical and emotional abuse. She alleged that the couple, who were married on March 2, 2025, in Bengaluru, faced marital discord due to dowry demands. When DH contacted Arshita, she refused to comment.
