Positive attitude helps overcome disability: MLABeneficiaries get old wheelchairs; to be replaced with new soon

He was of the opinion that positive mind would help them excel in their chosen field, despite disability.

He called upon the gathering to take onus of bringing the disabled to the mainstream of the society.

“It is our right to show them the path for progress,” he added. He went on to give many instances wherein disabled have outshone them inspiring many in the world.

“Positive attitude help in moulding their personality,” he added. He urged them to make use of various government projects introduced for their welfare.

Identify genuine persons

Zilla Panchayat president R Vinutha Srinivas directed the officials concerned to take the programmes meant for the disabled to their doorsteps. Observing that genuine beneficiaries are deprived of the government benefits, she asked the officials to identify the genuine beneficiaries.

KV Educational Institution’s president K V Navin Kiran sought permission from the Women and Child Welfare Department to conduct sportsmeet at the institution premises. 

On the occasion, wheelchairs, brail watches and crutches were provided to the physically-challenged persons.

The beneficiaries were provided old wheelchairs. Admitting the fact, Women and Child Welfare Department Deputy Director Shahar Banu said that old wheelchairs have been provided for temporary.

They will soon be replaced, once the new facilities are provided by the government. Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer B S Shekharappa, Zilla Panchayat member A D Avalappa and others were present.
