What makes the stamp all the more rare is the visionary had the stamp released on himself when he celebrated the centenary year birthday.
Now, after 50 years, the 150th birth anniversary of Visvesvaraya will be celebrated on Wednesday.
On the occasion, Adichunchanagiri branch mutt’s Nirmalananda seer will release a stamp to commemorate the day. Various programmes have been lined up to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the visionary at Muddenahalli where Governor H R Bhardwaj and others will take part.
