With February just two days away, the Government is yet to make arrangements to purchase additional power.

Principal Secretary (Energy) K Jairaj on Friday said the demand for power would go up normally from February as summer approaches.

“We require additional 7 MU to 8 MU per day. We had floated tenders to purchase between 400 MW and 500 MW of power. But, the CM is yet to take up the matter,” he said.

The State had announced that it would purchase power at a cost of Rs 330 crore and ensure uninterrupted power supply between 5 am-7 am and 7 pm- 11 pm during the exam period.
