The collection was presented by Devaraj, a teacher at the school in Kannamangala at the taluk-level Matric Mela and exhibition of learning aids at the Kote Circle Boys’ School in Shidlaghatta.
People interested in literature, science and art commonly collect articles on topics related to the subjects. Some people even preserve them for long periods of time.
An exhibition of articles from newspaper columns gave rise to curiosity among the people.
‘Karnataka Darshana’, ‘Vijnana Vishesha’, ‘Purana Pada’, ‘Karunalu Baa Belake’, ‘Raman’, ‘Putti’ and ‘Uttaramukhi’ were some of the Prajavani columns from which articles were collected and compiled into a book by Devaraj.

“We have developed the habit in our School of putting up interesting articles on the notice board and making the students read them out aloud.
“ When new articles are published in the newspapers, the older ones are pasted in a book and preserved, instead of being discarded. We now have almost a library-full of such articles,” said Devaraj.
“Articles on topics like tsunami, botany and science are informative not just for students but also for teachers,” he explained.
