Bangalore Urban Deputy Commissioner G N Nayak said that 92 polling stations will be set up. The break-up of the electorate is as follows: Members of Anekal TMC - 23; members of Bangalore ZPs- 81; Members of four TPs- 76; members of 86 GPs- 1849.

Nayak said provisions in the Representation of People’s Act -1951 will be utilised to curb electoral malpractices. As per the directions of the Election Commission of India, each polling station will have one presiding officer and one polling officer.

The Bangalore City Police Commissioner and SPs of  Bangalore Rural and Ramanagara have been requested to provide suitable police bundobast for the smooth conduct of polls.

The constituency is witnessing a direct fight between H S Gopinath (BJP) and Dayanand (Congress). Three independents - K R Nagaraj Reddy, A Venkatachalapathy and B M Bharathi withdrew their candidatures on Friday.
