Nine directors of the bank had filed a writ petition in the Karnataka High Court (Dharwad Bench) questioning the postponement of the election by the election officer and tahsildar.

In its order, the court stated that the (case of) alleged kidnapping of a director- Parashuram Ningappa Patil was closed and the Additional Government Advocate too, had stated that the election process would begin soon.

She had protested against the postponment of the elections and the allegation that one director was kidnapped. The court order favours the nine directors of the bank supporting MLA Hebbalkar.
