A prisoner arrested in connection with the murder of the brother’s son of former mayor, has escaped from Belgavi Institute of Medical Sciences (Bims). Jubeda Maksood Jambagi was arrested in connection with the murder of Fayaz Mushreef. He was lodged in the Darga jail in the town.
On October 2, Jambagi was shifted to the Central Prisons in Belagavi. He was admitted to Bims for treatment of diabetes and cardiac problems on October 5.
District Central Jail in-charge superintendent P S Ambekar said that Jubeda has escaped from the hospital during the course of treatment.
