The High Court Circuit Bench at Dharwad has stayed investigation proceedings against Higher Education Minister R V Deshpande by Lokayukta.
Justice K M Phanindra, who heard the matter, has stayed the proceedings.
Uttara Kannada district court had ordered the probe after social activist Jayanth Tinekar filed a complaint on March 10 alleging that the minister had transferred the government land at Hullatti village near Haliyal, granted by KIADB for industrial purpose, to his trust in 2001 when he was the Industries minister.
Report by April-end
Accepting the complaint, Judge D R Renake had directed the Lokayukta to submit a report by end of April.
