Speaking to presspersons, DYFI district President P R Bharath said auto drivers, construction labourers, ex-servicemen, retired police and widows should be given sites.

He said the Centre should take measures to provide railway connectivity to Kodagu. The railway lines should be laid in such a way that it will not affect the forest and environment. A handicapped bhavan should be set up for the welfare of the disabled in the district.

Rent Control Act should be implemented in the district. All the vacant posts in government departments should be filled and the authorities should effectively implement MGNREGS.
A coffee processing unit should be set up in Kodagu district, he added.

Flaying the anti-people’s policy of the State and Central governments, the DYFI will picket Virajpet taluk and Deputy Commissioner’s office on April 19, he informed.
